With the annual HIMSS Conference beginning in two weeks, the issue of Interoperability of HCIT systems looms as the #1 “hot button” issue for customers and investors at the trade show. Interoperability stands as THE major hurdle in developing and introducing high value solutions in the areas of analytics, PopHealth and Consumer Health to the market. Interoperability will also play a central role in the decision process for awarding the pending $11B DoD HCIT contract this summer.

To shed additional light on the issue, RBC has arranged for one of the leading experts on the topic of Interoperability in the HCIT market, Bill Spooner, to talk with investors and market participants. Bill will lay out the current landscape, efforts of the major vendors, the potential for government intervention and the opportunities that this issue creates for investors.

This call also serves as a prelude to the breakfast panel that RBC is sponsoring on Monday, April 13 as HIMSS kicks off in Chicago where Mr. Spooner will be joined by the CIOs from Intermountain Healthcare and St. Luke’s Health System to discuss the topic exclusively from the user’s perspective. For those investors attending HIMSS, this panel (at the Renaissance Hotel at 7:30am) will set the tone for discussions with vendors and users throughout the entire conference. Please RSVP to your RBC Capital Markets sales representative to secure one of the limited seats at the breakfast panel.
